New Year Project: Disliking, Accepting, and Loving my Body

When it comes down to it I have a love/hate relationship when it comes to my body. There are many things that I don't like when it comes to the reflection in the mirror.

  • Cellulite on my thighs
  • Stretchmarks on my stomach and shoulder
  • Love handles

Other than the three items listed above I am very well in love with my body. I have learn to accept my body and love myself for who I am being that I am the only one like me and no else can be just like me.

Instead of accepting the fact that I was overweight and just being blah about it I decided to start working out. Seeing the changes in my body made me enjoy it even more and adopt a new healthy lifestyle.

Do you havee a love/hate relationship with your body and if so how do you handle it?

  2. Hi Kechell! I'm so glad to hear that you're in love with your body. I think I'm still trying to get to that stage. And I agree with you on the working out thing - I used to complain a lot about being overweight and never did anything about it, which was really silly.

Thanks for linking up to The New Year Project :D

  4. Nice post! I think that the same way we grow into who be are/become, we also grow into loving our bodies. Because there's always something to remind us of our imperfections, it's so hard to love ourselves just as we are. Love those stretch marks, girl -- those are evidence that you won. :)

  5. It's a love/hate relationship sometimes. Overall, I am satisfied...I tend to focus more on the size of the clothes I'm wearing. I tend to obsess over small things, but in general, this is me, I accept it, even if I don't love every detail about me. I do try to stay healthy, exercise - and I feel better all around when I am doing that! :)Stopping by from SITS comment love! :)

  6. Great post! I think we all have a love / hate relationship, but ever since my daughter was born, it's been mostly love. The hard part is wondering why this body of mine is not letting go the baby weight as fast as I want hahaha. Dropping in from SITS Girls comment love tribe!

  7. I think we all have a love/hate relationship with our bodies at some point. I don't like my muffin top but I do like my smile. It's a give and take. Stopping by from The SITS Girls.

  8. I think love/hate is a great way to describe how a lot of people feel about their bodies, me included! I love your attitude though... instead of complaining about what you don't like, you did something about it! That sets a great example! :)

  9. Yes, definitely. I'm pregnant and feel fat and gross even though I know I'm carrying a new life. I like to work out when I have energy and feel good but that has not been the case lately. Hopefully soon though!

I'm hosting a link-up tomorrow Feb. 14 and this post would fit nicely. I hope you'll stop by and share it. #SITSBlogging

  10. I understand how sometimes it can be hard to love your body. My goal this year was to lose 10 pounds. I have about 5 more to go.

Here is my blog post that I wrote on loving your body.

  11. The relationship I have with my body is more about it's health than the way it looks. Some days it is just hard to get moving or do what I want to do. Thankfully it isn't all the time and I am grateful for that. I just have to really watch what I eat and do to try to keep it more on the love side. #SITSBlogging
