Title: Intertwined: Some emotions are just too strong to fight
Author: Jerilee Kaye
Genre: Romance, Contemporary

Buy: Amazon | Smashwords

Book Summary:
The women in Brianne Montgomery’s family have a curse that compels them to marry before the age of thirty-one, and she wasn't going to be the first one to break it.

Her life seemed perfect. Her parents were happily married and she had a wonderful brother who looked out for her. The only thing she hated about her life was Travis Cross—her brother’s annoying best friend.

But Brianne’s life took a sudden turn with a tragic death in her family. In an instant, she lost everything she held close to her in her perfect life.

Travis made a promise to protect Brianne for the rest of his life. And Travis is one person who knows how to keep his promises, no matter what the cost.

Soon, their once hateful relationship turned into an unbreakable bond of love and friendship.

However, their dependent and comfortable relationship would always be complicated because of the yearning inside Travis that craved Brianne like a drug. And Brianne struggled to stay immune to his charms. She had already lost so much, and Travis had become the most important thing she couldn’t afford to gamble with.

This romance follows the lives Travis and Brianne from the age sixteen to adulthood, and how they dealt with family, divorce, death, teen peer pressure, marriage and breakups… all of which make up their deep and unbreakable connection: A relationship so beautiful, they’re afraid to risk it for anything… not even for love itself.

Book Teaser:

Excerpt:
I stared at Tom’s grave, after his funeral when everybody had gone, including my parents. I didn’t want to go yet. I was left all alone. I read the words written on his tombstone.

Thomas Antoine Montgomery
Forever Young

It began to rain, as if the heavens were crying with me. My parents seemed to have forgotten that they’d left their little girl behind. I stood there in the rain for at least an hour, and neither of my parents came to find me.

You will never be alone, baby sister, Tom promised me. But he was gone. And even my parents caved in to their own worlds to mourn on their own. Whom did I have now?

Suddenly, I felt an arm around my shoulder. I looked up and found Travis staring down at me. His eyes were teary, too.

He hugged me to him, and this surprised me again. Travis and I hated each other’s guts.

But the embrace he gave me was warm and sincere. More than that, it was needing, too. It was as if we suddenly felt so alone and now all we had was each other to hold on to.

“Ssshhh…” he hushed me. “Everything’s going to be okay. I promise I will take care of you for as long as I live,” he said. Then he turned toward Tom’s grave. “I will protect her with my life, bro. You don’t have to worry. She will never be alone for as long as I am alive.”

And suddenly, I realized this was what Tom had asked Travis for in the hospital. He asked Travis to take care of me…because he would no longer be able to.

And even though I hated Travis in the past, I knew he meant what he promised Tom.

And I knew Tom would not leave me in Travis’s care if he didn’t trust him with his life.

I buried my face in Travis’s shoulder. I felt him kiss the top of my head and then he leaned his cheek against it. He was taking deep breaths once in a while and I knew he was crying, too. But as he held me in his arms, I knew he was trying to be strong for both of us.

January 25 - Today is World #Leprosy Day.

What is Leprosy? Leprosy is a disease that has been known since biblical times. It causes skin sores, nerve damage, and muscle weakness that gets worse over time.

CausesLeprosy is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae. It is not very contagious and it has a long incubation period (time before symptoms appear), which makes it hard to know where or when someone caught the disease. Children are more likely than adults to get the disease.
Leprosy has two common forms: tuberculoid and lepromatous. Both forms produce sores on the skin. However, the lepromatous form is most severe. It causes large lumps and bumps (nodules).
Leprosy is common in many countries worldwide, and in temperate, tropical, and subtropical climates. About 100 cases per year are diagnosed in the United States. Most cases are in the South, California, Hawaii, and U.S. islands.
Effective medications exist. Isolating people with this disease in "leper colonies" is not needed.
Drug-resistant Mycobacterium leprae and an increased numbers of cases worldwide have led to global concern about this disease.

What is Gospel for Asia doing to help?

Today, GFA-supported national missionaries and students are involved in sharing the love of Christ and Sunday school ministry among leprosy patients. They also do social and relief work such as food distribution, medical aid, health and hygiene awareness programs, adult education and tutoring centers for children.
We provide our leprosy patients with:
  • Nourishing meal each day
  • Medical treatments so their wounds can heal faster
  • Custom shoes for their disfigured and hurting feet
  • Hygiene supplies

“It is because of God’s grace that we have the strength, courage and motivation to work among these people, to share with them, to hug them, to love them and to care for them,” Pastor Jiva says.
Pray for Gospel for Asia's Leprosy Ministry: bring love and life to people suffering with leprosy
  • Pray for Healing: Please pray God will, in His great love, heal the many leprosy patients calling upon His name. Also ask that our medical personnel will make strides in eradicating leprosy in Asia.
  • Pray for Leprosy Patients: Please pray many lepers will come to know our God's deep love for them.
  • Pray for the Missionaries: Please lift our leprosy ministry missionaries up in prayer. Pray for spiritual, physical and emotional strength as they minister day after day to the least of these.
  • Pray for many more Medical Personnel: Please ask the Lord to provide workers who will not only meet the patients' physical needs, but who will also minister to them spiritually.
  • Pray for the Children: Pray for the children at the Bridge of Hope centers established in leprosy colonies, that they would abound with Christ's love and grace. Pray for God's protection upon the children against contracting leprosy.

Visit Gospel for Asia to take action against Leprosy and help make a difference in Asia today.

No resolutions, just one word #faithful

I have given up on the whole New Year Resolution thing and like the one world a whole lot better. Last year my world was happiness. I wanted to focus on be happy and finding happiness in all that I do. It worked out better for me and helped me to stay positive throughout the year.

For 2015 my one word will be faithful.

faith·ful /ˈfāTHfəl/   adjective: faithful; plural noun: faithful
1. loyal, constant, and steadfast.
2. having a strong belief in a particular religion, especially Islam.
3. true to the facts or the original.

I want to focus on being more faithful in all aspects of my life. I want to be more faithful in my:

  • faith in God
  • weight loss [I am working on losing 95 lbs]
  • cultivating of my relationships with others
  •  relationship with myself

What is your one word for this year?

#NoExcuses Monday Challenge Mad Lib #Sweatpink

  • Hey 2015, it’s me Kechell from K is for Kechell.

  • This year I would like to get to my healthy weight, develop a more healthy lifestyle, and stay focus.

  • It would also be super duper awesome if I also did a marathon this year. It’s not a resolution, though, just a reminder to myself to try and have the best year yet because I can do anything I set my mind to.

  • The thing I am looking forward to most this year is getting fit and healthy.

  • I’ll use the one thing that truly gets me out of bed in the morning which is my workout buddy (my brother) to help me get up, get moving and get after my #NoExcuses 2015.

  • Speaking of excuses (ahem), my very favorite excuse is I have something else to do and I have used it to get out of going to the gym on more than a few occasions.

  • I vow to move my body and be more healthy this year even if it means I have to get up early every morning for the rest of my life.

  • Even if my alarm clock gets eaten by the dog in the middle of the night, I'll still get up early and go to the gym.

  • I will stop blaming my nephew for eating the rest of the ice cream when everyone knows it was really me.

  • My bed is not the reason I make excuses. I will show my bed who's boss this year and get my run on.

  • I know that walking is better than nothing.

  • I will reward myself by buying new clothes.

  • No Excuses 2015 has just begun and already I am imagining myself a winner. I can’t wait to rock a pair of yoga pants from Augusta Active. I can’t wait till my sweaty friends are jealous of how fresh, clean and cool I am between workouts with help from ShowerPill body wipes. I can see myself rocking squats in new

Partie Hoodie from Actio926 and looking fit and fly while doing it. And of course, I’ll be taking my workouts to the next level and improving my form with my new ActivMotion Bar to help me train for my next  5k race with Sasquatch Racing.

  • Oh, and let’s not forget how amazing my sweater will smell during my dance aerobic class after washing with some WIN Detergent. And lastly, I’ll keep rocking my 2015 with clean eats and nutrition from Beaming with Health!

#SweatPink #NoExcuses Challenge: 30 sec. plank

Join me in the no excuses sweat pink challenge.
Today is 30 sec. plank.

How To Plank:
  1. Start off on a yoga mat in the pushup position. Starting with the pushup position is the easiest way to get into the plank.
  2. Lower both your forearms to the ground so that both your elbows and fists are flat to the ground. Your palms should be balled up, and directly underneath your shoulders.
  3. Curl your toes under and engage your abs by tilting your pelvis and pulling your belly button toward your spine.
  4. Straighten your body but keep your neck and spine neutral. Imagine that you’re a plank of wood, and that you’re straight as an arrow.
  5. Flex your abdominals and squeeze your glutes. These are the two major muscle groups you’ll be working out in this exercise.
  6. Hold this position, also known as the plank, until after the burning begins. Keep your eyes on the floor in front of you. Avoid raising your behind. Your body should make a straight line from your heels to the back of your head.
