This perfectly cooked porterhouse is steak nirvana. It has a beautifully seared outside and a juicy, tender inside. Simple seasoning, grilling over high heat, and a short resting period all work together to get the best flavor and texture.
Ingredients:
- 1 porterhouse steak 1 1/2 inches thick
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
Instructions:
Preheat grill to high heat
Rub both sides of the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt and pepper
Place the steak on the hot grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached
During the last 2 minutes of cooking, sprinkle minced garlic and lay rosemary sprigs on top of the steak for added flavor
Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving
