Summer #BlogChallenge Day #25

--Ideal day of "me time". April @ The Mom Show

My ideal day of "me time" would be going to the beach and spending the whole day there working on my tan trying not to get sunburned.

There are a few times where I have absolutely nothing to do and I will walk down to the beach and spend the day there. I love being at the water.

A Letter to Myself Five Years Ago

20 Something Bloggers is turning 5! To celebrate they asked to write a letter to our selves five years ago.

    Dear Kechell,
Congratulations! You did it, graduating from high school and on your way to college. Don't worry to too much about it, you will meet lots of cool people that you will call friends. Getting to college is a big deal for you and even bigger for your family, but do it for you and no one else.

When you get to that campus don't be afraid to dive in and experience new things; the sooner the better. You will join various organizations and guest what else? Leave the state of California. You will go to Texas and Vegas. Oh Vegas, It will be the funniest. You will become a leader and try to take on the world but don't give up it can happen. Good grades are harder to obtain but all nighters will help with that.

There will be guys not from school but around and there will be some activity you will regret later. But you will get over it and move on. It will be best to avoid them all together.

The Next five years you will develop into a nice human being with good intentions and the right state of mind. You will be more involved with your community, completing more that 50 hours of community service a semester, becoming a little activist fighting for the cause.

Remember that there will be times when you feel you have to fit in with the crowd to be accepted. Do us both a favor and don't. In the end it won't be worth it and you will still be on the outside, feeling bad inside. And try to find a balance between fun and school.

Oh yeah, you still don't drive :)

    Summer #BlogChallenge Day #22

-- When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you

grew up? Hannah @ Baby Knows Best

Growing up I wanted to be everything possible. I started off wanting to be a dancer and a singer since that was the most popular thing to be at the time.

After I went through that phase I started to pick more realistic things. I wanted to become a doctor and a teacher. I kept with these two ideas until high school. I changed my mind, like I always do, and went into Information Technology instead.

But I still like to sing and dance [in the shower] :)

    Summer #BlogChallenge Day #21

--Most recent words of wisdom you heard that stuck with you.

Don't follow your dreams; chase them. -Richard Dumb

This wasn't said to me but I read it somewhere and I have stayed with it since. For me, you can follow anything and you might be able to catch it. However, when you chase it, it shows more determination and you will have a greater chance of accomplishing your dream.

    Summer #BlogChallenge Day #18

    -- Share a favorite recipe!

I absolutely love brownies! I made these for a bake sale at my school and they sold out so fast I didn't get to try any.

    Halloween Brownies
    Makes 24 squares
    Prep time: 15 minutes
Total time: 2 hours, 45 minutes (including cooking, cooling, and refrigerator)
    Ingredients
    Filling
    • 2 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
    • 1 egg
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 4 drops red food coloring
    • 4 drops yellow food coloring
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    Brownies
    • 1 box brownie mix
    • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 2 eggs
    Directions
Heat oven to 350. Grease or spray bottom only of a 13×9 inch pan.
In a small bowl, beat filling ingredients with electric mixer on low speed until smooth. Set aside.
In a large bowl, stir brownie ingredients until well blended.
Spread 3/4 of the brownie batter in the pan. Spoon the filling by spoonfuls evenly on top of the brownie batter. Spoon remaining brownie batter over filling. For marbled design, pull knife through the batter and filling in wide curves. Turn pan and repeat.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean and mixture is set. Cool completely at room temperature (about an hour.) Then refrigerate for an hour until chilled. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
Note: when you blend the cream cheese with the food coloring it might appear somewhat pink. Don’t worry – it turns orange as it bakes.

    Summer #BlogChallenge Day #16

--Fitness guru or couch potato? Talk about your fitness habits.

I am currently a couch potato trying to become a fitness guru. At the moment I don't have any set fitness habits just trying out different things to find out what is the best for me. In the beginning of the year I started taking an aerobics class and since I'm out of school I have to find something else.

May workout plan so far consist of cardio in the morning  and toning after with a little zumba. Of course with a healthy diet.
